I've decided to start a thread on predictions as to what will ultimately unfold in future seasons of the series. I encourage all of you to both respond and post some of your own! All I know is that it is a sure thing some important character will be killed off. They are sure to pull a Game of Thrones...
1: Treasure Fleet
It is a definite that Flint will encounter the 1715 treasure fleet and engage it in either the next episode or the beginning of next season or episode 8 (possible cliff hanger). If this is the case, they will most certainly be caught in the Hurricane of 1715 that infamously sank most of the fleet (yes, the same storm where Edward Kenway stol- I mean commandeered, the Jackdaw like a badass). I have a feeling that Flint may even wash overboard or, if not him, one of the other important characters (Gates or Scott?). It is possible that the coming storm may EVEN be the finale's cliffhanger!
2: Gates's death
He is such a great character. I know he is planning to betray Flint, but I feel it may lead to his death somehow (perhaps in the fight against the galleon). Flint will forgive him.
3: Mrs. Barlow's death
Need I say more?
4: Vane and Blackbeard
Honestly, I was kind of disappointed when it turned out that Vane's old captor wasn't Edward Teach. He had the look, but, in my opinion, it was a total ****block. Plus, it appeared that Vane boarded a large ship at the end of VI. I thought it was the Queen Anne's Revenge (even though it wasn't actually acquired until 17', but still). Either way, I don't fully understand because it seemed like they looked at each other when the episode ended, which contradicted their meeting in VII. But still, the way it was set up! I'm rather glad it wasn't Blackbeard though, to be honest. I have a feeling he will be a major character in the show in a few seasons. I even have a feeling that Charlie will become utterly scared of him, since his appearance will remind him of his old master, and he will submit out of fear to Eddie. Since they were sort of partners for a time in real life, I think Blackbeard will actually end up making Vane his b*tch, and he will stand up to him at Okrakoke before Blackbeard's death. That, or they will become close friends.
Flint and Silver:
They will become bitter rivals, I think. They are already sort of at odds, but they will become enemies. In Treasure Island, it said that Long John was the only man Flint feared. He already has leverage over our good captain since he knows the schedule and is a valuable asset to the crew. He tried to find Flint's treasure after going after Bones in the book along with Pew, Hands, and Black Dog, which means they will eventually join the crew and Silver could lead a mutiny at the end of the series.
Bones' return:
Inevitable, but still. It will probably be epic, knowing cliches.
Silver's leg:
It's already been foreshadowed. It's bound to happen at some point, perhaps even be cut off by the other cook whose name escapes me.
Jim:
I have a hunch that one of the characters may end up being Jim Hawkins's real dad, and that his dad isn't really his real dad. I's say it would be Flint, Silver, or Vane are the best bets. I honestly can't think of anyone else, unless it is a minor character maybe as a cool touch. If this is true, it probably isn't until the end.
Vane takes on a new crew:
It's already been set up, but it will end up being the old men of the blackbeard dude (I know he has a name, but he was never formerly addressed by it as I recall). I still don't know how Rackham will persuade them to mutiny.
Edward Kenway:
Just kidding.
John and Eleanor:
There's already some tension between them. They are at odds and Silver's already done a bit of flirting, or, at least john has. Usually two people at odds, a man and a woman, end up falling in love. It's a TV/movie cliche. Either way, I'd (pirate) ship them. Sorry, that was bad.
Woodes Rodgers:
He's bound to be a villain.
So those are all of my predictions so far. I'd really like to see all of your's! Luckily, since I do t have Starz, the finale should go online by Friday, allowing me to pull a Captain Flint! I, like all of you, can't wait for the episode (the previous one was the best, naturally, and the finale always ROCKS!). It's still sad that the season ended so quick, but it's an amazing show so far, rivaling even Game of Thrones, but we will have to see by next season.
It won't jump the shark anytime soon. That I can even guarantee. Hope to see all of your predictions!
