Biography[]

Season One[]

Eleanor hires O'Malley as a body guard and enforcer, his main job being to protect the bar and Eleanor. When Dyfed Bryson arrives, O'Malley tells Scott that his ship was spotted entering the harbor. Eleanor gives O'Malley orders to detain Dyfed should he refuse to hand over his cannon. O' Malley and several other mercenaries are stationed around the Tavern in the service of this. However, Bryson agrees to the deal, and the mercenaries stand down. When Dyfed tells Eleanor he will give them to her, she sends O'Malley to the docks to oversee the unloading. As Dyfed prepares to leave, Mr. Scott arrives and tells O'Malley that he will take over the watch, but is forced to knock him out when O'Malley refuses to leave, telling him he was told to watch with his own eyes[1].

Hammund and O'Malley

When he awakes, he goes to the bar and explains what happened to a very angry Eleanor, although she doesn't directly blame him for the loss. O'Malley then stand guard over the bar, keeping out members of the growing mob outside, furious at what they see as being robbed by the Guthrie family. O'Malley is the first one to stand in front of Charles Vane's men when they enter to confront Eleanor. O'Malley directly stands in front of Hamund, the leader of the group of men. He steps closer as Hamund attempts to upset Eleanor when he tells her they are going to the beach to have sex with Max[2].

Later, Anne Bonny comes to Eleanor for help to kill Hamund. She has become tired of his treatment of Max, and want to make sure he will taken care of but can't directly interfere. Eleanor agrees, but on the condition that they kill all eight remaining men, out of fear that Hamund's disappearance would lead to suspicion on the part of the remainder. Eleanor sends O'Malley with some other men for an ambush set up to kill Hamund and the other seven remaining members of the Ranger crew. Anne leads them to the Wrecks as part of a ruse, they have been led to believe that half of the pearls Jack was to pay Max with are buried there. When they arrive, O'Malley and his men slaughter the crew, with O'Malley personally killing Slade. He moves to go after a wounded Hamund trying to flee, but Anne goes after him and kills him[3].

During a meeting of the Consortium, O'Malley interrupts, nose bleeding, to tell her that Mr. Scott has come to see her, having punched him when O' Malley tried to make him leave. He later brings Scott back to her office so Eleanor can tell him that she figured out how to free the Andromache slaves. He leaves after Eleanor asks him to give them the room[4].

O'Malley joins the rest of the Consortium in trying to figure out who has seized Fort Nassau and plan for a possible counterattack. A messenger boy brings a note that informs them a small band of men was seen approaching the fort from the west, but no one knows who they are. As they talk, they rule out the possibilities of it being one of the home crews or a first move by the British Empire to retake the island. Hornigold then reveals that he will have 250 men assembled to retake the fort. However, the Consortium members are called outside to the bridge, where they see Charles Vane and his men arrive. He and Eleanor speak privately and reach a deal. To prevent Vane from sinking anymore ships in the bay, particularly Flint's should he return with the Urca de Lima gold, Eleanor agrees to let him remain in the fort and take Hornigold's seat on the Consortium, and she warns him about the tunnels Hornigold planned on using to surprise Vane's men[5].

Season Two[]

O'Malley escorts Eleanor to Fort Nassau after Vane misses a Consortium meeting. The two stare in displeasure at the bodies of Hornigold's men, who have been trussed up naked next to the gate. He later returns with her back to Nassau, where they find Meeks, the quartermaster of the Fancy, arguing with the Warehouse Cashier. Eleanor explains to Meeks that money has been deducted from his crew's profits due to the costs required to repackage the bloodstained cargo[6].

O'Malley interrupts Eleanor's meeting with Meeks to tell her that the rest of the Consortium is waiting for her upstairs in the parlor. After Ned Low beheaded Meeks in Eleanor's tavern and began to threaten Eleanor, O'Malley intervened by putting a sword to Low's neck and demanding that he leave. Low fought back and a sword fight ensued. Low's men held the rest of Eleanor's mercenaries at gunpoint to prevent them from intervening. During the fight, O'Malley was subsequently sliced in the stomach and was then stabbed through the neck by Low, killing him. After Low leaves, Eleanor rushes to his body to see if he is still alive[7].

Eleanor later hires Babatunde, one of the former slaves from the Andromache, to replace O'Malley as her bodyguard[8].

"Bastard's finally bringing in the first of the guns. Took him long enough."

"He takes his cargo seriously. You look tired. Why don't I take over?"

"Miss Guthrie told me I was to see those guns off with my own eyes."

"I understand."
