Biography[]

Season One[]

When Eleanor Guthrie discovers their treatment of Max, she places a ban on the crew of the Rangernot allowing them to buy or sell anything unless they join the crew of Captain Flint and abandon Charles Vane. Quartermaster Jack Rackham, Rackham's lover Anne BonnyHamund, Slade and roughly six others remain with Vane[1]

The only real benefit of staying with Vane is Max, who gives her services to the crew to repay the debt she feels responsible for. She tells the men that pleasure works both ways, and is greater when both parties are happy. Slade goes along with this and believes it to be true, unlike Hamund, who continue to abuse her[2].

After Captain Lilywhite leads an unruly protest outside the Tavern after Richard Guthrie announces that there is an arrest warrant out for him and that his family will no longer be doing business with the pirates of Nassau. After taking ownership of the Inn, Hamund leads Slade and the rest of the men against Rackham's instructions to the Tavern where they taunt Eleanor about Max, thinking her reign in Nassau finished[3]

When Anne Bonny tires of Hamunds actions, she conspires with Eleanor Guthrie to have him killed. She tricks the crew into thinking the pearls Rackham lost where hidden in the Wrecks. On the way to the Wrecks, Rackham asks Anne if she thought about Slade, who never tried to hurt Max in any way when she hatched this plan. When they arrive, they are ambushed and killed, including Slade who is killed by O'Malley. The rumor is then spread that Hamund led the men in sailing for Port Royal to find their prospects there[4]

Trivia[]

  • On the way to the ambush, Rackham asks Anne if she has considered how Max would feel about Slade's death, as he had never hurt her yet is being lead to his death.
